coffee

Freshly Brewed LuvaCup.ca WebsiteFor those that are not aware, my wife and I started a new business up this past spring, LuvaCup Gourmet Coffee Service. As the name suggests, it is an office coffee service which provides high quality espresso based coffee beverages to offices around the Winnipeg area.

Why did we get involved in another business? We both have a passion for exceptional coffee, and the quality of the beverages that the Barista Supremo machine creates are better than I have had in any coffee house around.

Because Joanne wasn't paying me huge heaps of money, I have been putting off developing a website for the company, but in the past couple of days I have finally developed luvacup.ca!

It is not the most feature rich site, nor is it very flashy, but I am kinda proud of it for a few reasons...

StarbucksAccording to CNN, Starbucks is going to stop selling what is apparently a profitable product for them, because is masks the smell of the coffee in their stores. What are they dropping from their menu? Their breakfast sandwiches! I can't ever recall hearing of a company dropping a product from their lineup because of the smell, so this may be a first.

They brought in the breakfast sandwiches to likely compete with McDonalds who is bringing the McCafe concept ot North America. Seems kind of funny to drop a product that levels the competetive playing field with what might be your number one worldwide competitor.

As for their trial of $1 short cups of brewed coffee. It is just to get new customers in the door to see what the Starbucks experience is like, an to hopefully get them coming back for the $5 Venti beverages.

UPDATE: Here is an interesting Blog post about Aroma at Starbucks!
